First time shooting high school freshman football. Missed the ball and missed focus.

It's busy being right on the sidelines. Watching the game, the other players on the sidelines, and the big one is the play heading your way to run you over.

As someone who has shot a lot of sports I'm compelled to offer some advise. Shutter speed should be at least 1/800sec, ideally 1/1000 or faster.

Not sure what lens you are using, if you can shoot at f/4 and bump up the ISO to 6400 to 10,000 that should get it done.

That's great advise, thank you. The problem is, I need to find the ball. LOL. Practice, practice, practice.
