An advantage to me with the Tamron lenses that have tripod collars would be that the Tamron collars are grooved for Arca Compatible clamps. All my tripod heads and monopod clamps are Arca Compatible...
However, the Sigma 100-400mm for Sony is the lightest of the very long lenses for full frame E-Mount cameras at 2.5 lb or 1135 G (the Tamron = 4.2 lb or 1900 G)... It is also the least expensive but, it doesn't seem to be stabilized...
Another alternative, if you shoot APSC: the Sony 70-350mm only weighs 1.38 lb or 625 G...
That is the one that I chose since I always used the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens on crop sensor Canon bodies (7D and 7DII). The OSS of this lens works great with the IBIS of my Sony A6600...
I switched to a third party A/C equipped tripod collar for the 70-350mm lens.
