All on a Sony a7R or a7RM2. My favorite 28mm lens.

Thanks guys, it's a great lens. Holds up well against my more modern lenses...great color and contrast.

It is somewhat rare as it was only produced for 2 years. It's not the Takumar or Pentax-M version, it's known as the "original K mount" lens.

Late to the party as usual :). Here are some pics I took in a hall intended for wedding ceremonies in a castle nearby. Am pleased with the beautiful gradation in the photos as well as the sharpness.

This lens benefits from a Lightroom/CameraRaw profile to correct geometrical distortion.

This lens excels at landscapes. Your photography focuses on near field and macro compositions. Maybe that's the reason why you're not warming up to it. Although the shot and bokeh looks pretty good. One you may like to try out is the Vivitar 28 f/2.8 by Komine. It comes in two varieties, a standard and Close Focus version. Although both of them can focus very close. To my eye, the C.F. version isn't so good for landscapes. These are still very affordable, and they are as small as an Olympus Zuiko.
I like the Olympus OM 28mm primes as well.
You can sell the Pentax for $200+ ;)

I have the Vivitar 28/2 Close Focus (Komine made) and it's wonderful. I have a few really nice 28's. The Nikon 28/2 AiS and OM 28/3.5. I picked this one up on impulse (and I got it super cheap) thinking I would probably sell it but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I think for someone shooting an A7 model it would be pretty great. Definitely not the kind of thing I need.

FWIW I hardly every shoot anything remotely like a landscape but the Vivitar 28/2 does pretty well when I press it into service (see link).

I got a Pentax K 3.5/28 some time ago for cheap and I can't really fault it, but I hardly ever take it out. When I take a 28mm, it's mostly the Pentax-M 3.5/28. It's small and light and gives me very good images on the street; not so good for landscapes because of its field curvature. Once Zeiss comes up with a Loxia 28mm, I'll be done with legacy 28's. Probably.
