Strange Visitor

This strange visitor popped up in my Southern California garden today. It "might" be a southern alligator lizard but, I cannot identify it...

I'd say that's a good guess, Richard. Looks like it's re-growing its tail.
I've noticed a little one in our backyard/patio lately. Good for keeping bugs down.

We have loads of lizards competing with our flocks of birds which, between them, do a pretty good job in limiting our insect population...
